The new two-storey detached house is located on a plot of land within the settlement of Marmari in Evia, Greece. The plot is relatively flat, faces a community road on the west side and is only a few metres away from the sea. The building is intended to function as a holiday house, mainly for summer vacations.

The design program indicated a holiday house developed in two building volumes, together with the desired balconies, semi-outdoor spaces and outdoor configurations. The building is articulated by a two-storey volume running along the north side of the plot and a ground-floor volume positioned perpendicular to the former one and to the south. In this way, the elongated shape of the plot and the view towards the sea are utilised, while at the same time the outdoor space around the residence is visually isolated in relation to the existing neighbouring building to the north and organised into two courtyards.

The larger courtyard, to the west and towards the sea, houses a dining area shaded by a pergola and a swimming pool. The smaller courtyard, towards the east, hosts a barbecue and a small sitting area that can also function as a breakfast area. The outdoor areas of the residence are visually isolated from the neighbouring plots and the community road with solid wall fencing, combined with the planting of tall shrubs around the perimeter.

Access to the plot is exclusively from the community road to the west. A path that crosses the northern side of the plot connects the patio door and the parking area to the entrance of the house, which is marked by a door awning.

On the ground floor is the living room with a view to the sea towards the west and the kitchen with the dining room, with a view to the mountain towards the east. Also, on the ground floor there is a bedroom with access to a covered terrace, a bathroom and the staircase. Upstairs, there are two more bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, as well as a storage room. The bathrooms on the first floor face one west towards the sea and the other east towards the mountain, with access to a covered area and a balcony respectively.

The building envelope is made of prefabricated wooden walls and covered with external thermal insulation, while the mandatory roof of the building is done with a double-pitch tile roof.

The architectural design of the holiday house is governed by rationality, with an emphasis on functionality and simplicity.
